Entertainment opportunities in Amarillo rival those of much larger cities. The Amarillo Symphony, Long Star Ballet, Amarillo Little Theatre, Amarillo Art Center and
Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum provide outstanding cultural activities. Special events and concerts appear regularly at the Amarillo Civic Center.
Amarillo's weather has been much maligned. But the fact is, a better climate would be hard to find. Amarillo has mild winters, the nation's cleanest air and an average
humidity of only 20-25% for an ideal comfort level. Area residents enjoy an average of 348 days of sunshine a year.
This excellent climate is perfect for weekend retreats at Palo Duro Canyon State Park, America's second-largest canyon, or nearby Lake Meredith with facilities for water
skiing, fishing, sailing, scuba diving and picnicking. The city's 57 parks offer golf, tennis, shooting range, swimming pools, and Wonderland Park for the kids.
Amarillo residents enjoy snow skiing at five major resorts, including the eighth-rated ski slope in the world at Taos, N.M. Great trout fishing and camping are also
nearby in the Rocky Mountains.

Worth.
